MacBean Tessem has an origin which pre-dates Saskatchewan's birth as a Canadian Province. In 1905, the founding law firm of Smythe, Begg and Hayes opened its law offices in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, to serve the needs of a community that was growing and developing into a thriving business and agricultural centre. Over the course of time, the firm has grown and expanded to maintain its leadership and prominence as one of the major law firms in southwestern Saskatchewan. The members of the firm, throughout the years, have played an integral part in the City of Swift Current and surrounding communities, and today maintain branch offices in Kyle, Maple Creek, Gull Lake, Shaunavon and Leader, and continue to play an active role in the development of the City of Swift Current and the surrounding area. The firm presently carries a broadly based practice and is dedicated to provide full service, cost effective, timely and innovative solutions to legal problems and is expanding its client base, while at the same time strengthening its relationship with long standing clients. The firm pursues full service through lawyer specialization to ensure professional and quality legal services. The firm is committed to the profession of law with its members including past presidents of the Law Society of Saskatchewan, Law Society of Saskatchewan Benchers, members of the Canadian Bar Association, members of the Law Foundation of Saskatchewan, members and executives of the Southwest Bar Association, and members of the Trial Lawyers Association, with present and past members of the firm being involved in all aspects of community life.
MacBean Tessem encourages our lawyers and legal assistants to participate in family and community activities outside of the firm. Members of our firm are actively involved as volunteers with local charities, organizations, and community fundraising events, as well as in churches, local clubs and associations.
